What to Expect
The City and the RTA have moved this project forward from Period 3 to Period 2 of the RTA plan.
Broadway from Camino Seco to Houghton Road is approaching final design approval in Fall 2017.
Widening to a 4 lane cross section with a raised median and raised shoulder curb.
Upgraded drainage crossings and roadside channels to improve drainage flows under the roadway.
New drainage culvert at the Este Wash to allow water to flow under the roadway.
New sidewalks on both sides of the roadway.
New Bike Hawk signal at Gollob Road.
New LED street lighting along both sides of the roadway.
Native landscape and water harvesting features throughout the corridor.
Public Art features located throughout the corridor.
The general order of improvements is expected to be as follows, however sequencing may vary as needed.Century Link will be replacing and modifying existing facilities, primarily on the north side of the roadway and at various roadway crossings.
Southwest Gas will be installing an upgraded high pressure line for the length of the project.
Minor TEP adjustments will be made to existing facilities.
Water mains will be replaced and lowered for the length of the project to remove conflicts with new drainage facilities.
Sewer mains will be modified at 3 locations that are in conflict with new drainage facilities.
Drainage pipes and structures will be constructed followed by new curb and initial pavement construction.
Sidewalks, street lighting and HAWK signal will be installed.
Final pavement, pavement markings and traffic signs will be installed
Landscape and erosion control will be installed and established.
Neighborhood and Business access will be maintained during construction.
